The Center for Wooden Boats celebrates more than just craftsmanship. We celebrate the rich history of Northwest Maritime storytellers. The Third Friday Speaker Series  was started over 40 years ago and has always been a free public program. We celebrate unique and renowned storytellers in the maritime community once a month by inviting the community to listen to their presentation and stories. 

The Third Friday Speaker series has temporarily moved to an online presentation format until further notice.

Renowned PNW boatbuilder and designer, Eric Hvalsoe presents the process and technique behind his Hvalsoe designs. With more than 30 years of experience in small wooden craft design and construction, marine carpentry and fine woodworking, Eric recently completed a Hvalsoe 16 lapstrake dinghy for the CWB livery fleet. Be the first to hear what went into the construction of this beautiful vessel.
