About this event

Join us for an evening celebrating the arts, music, community, and good vibes as we kick off another journey around the sun.

The Collective exists to help melt the Seattle Freeze, and after these two years of isolation, we are feeling a deep desire to welcome everyone back! We're thrilled to still be here serving as a hub for activity, collaboration, friendship, exploration, dining, and much more! Ease into socializing again with a fun evening for The Collective's Fourth Birthday!

You are invited!

Evening highlights to get stoked for:

  • DJ Lace Cadence spinning groovy afro beats
  • Beer tastings
  • Hosted bites

About our collaborative partners:

Electric Coffin

Electric Coffin is a collaboration between Duffy De Armas and Stefan Hofmann. It is coded within art history and ideologies from archetypes of mysticism. They explore found truths from modernity and a personal historical perspective. A process-driven studio practice and narratively informed dogma guide Electric Coffin, synthesizing perception through the use of created and found iconography and typography. They are inspired by a number of sources both material and ephemeral; sources encompass knowledge, culture, the physical remains of industry, mass production, communication, and commerce.

Marshall Law Band

Since forming in 2017, Marshall Law Band (MLB), has grown from an unknown funk-hop six-piece to a lauded community collective to the house band of the Seattle Black Live Matter movement. The group's music focuses on individual empowerment and positive community change through the filter of hard-hitting hip-hop vocals laid over funk instrumentation.

DJ Lace Cadence

Lace is a Seattle-based DJ and the founder of Trophouse Thursdays at Seattle’s Sugar Hill. He spins a signature blend of afrobeat, dancehall, rap and r&b, with a passion for amplifying music from the African continent and across the diaspora.

Lace is a frequently featured DJ on KEXP and collaborator with Palmwine Experience and Champagne Sundays, Seattle-area events celebrating the Afro-contemporary experience. As an emcee and vocalist, Lace made waves with his early solo career and as one third of rap outfit Clockwork. You may know him from Seattle’s favorite electronic r&b outfit The Flavr Blue.
