Event Details

Join FareStart at their first Food for Thought series panel discussion to learn how hunger and food insecurity are being addressed across the Seattle area.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the demand for food has nearly doubled across Washington State. The surge in food insecurity has caused nonprofit organizations to step up in new ways to address these gaps, while keeping people safe and ensuring our neighbors don’t go hungry. Hear first-hand from organizations working through these challenges on the ground, about the successes, lessons learned, and hopes for a post-COVID recovery.

Panelists:

Gloria Hatcher-Mays, Executive Director, Rainier Valley Food Bank
Nicole Lowe, Program Executive, Hunger, YMCA
Angela Dunleavy, CEO, FareStart

Moderated by Julaine Smith, FareStart Board Chair
