"In his exhibition (In)Form, Vashon-based artist Nate Clark employs laborious and process-oriented techniques as a mechanism to foster patience and bodily awareness. Adapting to a slower pace in the early pandemic, Clark grounded himself in the material processes of his home on Vashon, gardening, beekeeping, and gathering wool from local farmers. These methods and mediums have in turn been incorporated into his MadArt exhibition, featuring sculptures of wool and cedar that situate around a partition of woolen batting. A tunnel to the rear of the studio leads through the partition to two immense cedar domes, specifically placed to be acoustically activated. By engaging the senses through sight, touch, smell, and sound, these sculptural elements translate Clark’s personal creative practice into instruments that cultivate mindfulness and an embodied experience that viewers can share."
