July 2022 Speaker: Melanie Masson, Pathways to Joining the Racing Sailing Community in Seattle

In-person at our Wagner Education Center Sail Loft, and livestreamed via Zoom. This is a free event. 

Are you curious about racing but unsure where to start? Melanie will talk about her path to sailing and racing, how she has made connections in the community, and the importance of continuing to build your skills. Melanie grew up the in southeast, loving water but landlocked in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She moved to Seattle in her late 20's and took up sailing (and soon thereafter racing) in 2019.

The Third Friday Speaker series is one of the longest running programs at The Center for Wooden Boats. Featuring renowned influencers in the maritime community, the series takes place every third Friday of the month and is free to the public.
